Making Wedding Place Cards Into – Wedding Favors
Wedding planning can be a lot of fun but it is a time of tremendous decision-making. Place cards and wedding favors are one such decision that will need to be made and we are seeing a lot of brides who are taking these two items and combining them to create unique favors that incorporate the name of the guest.
It has been said that the most beautiful sound to a person is the sound of his or her own name. So you can see how this concept will provide your guest with a wedding favor that they will cherish.
So let us explore some the ideas that you can utilize in an attempt to combine the place card and the wedding favor into one.
Framing the place card into a sweet little “wallet size” frame offers an elegant look to the wedding tables. How nice it will be for the guest to see their name so nicely framed.
The cookie wedding favor has become extremely popular with today’s brides. Often times, the bride is making the cookies herself from an old family recipe, which adds a very sentimental touch. But even if you use a professional baker this idea can still work. That is to have the guest’s names written with icing on the cookie. This makes a cute place card and lets the guest know that cookie is just for them.
When the season is right there are a few great ideas using fruit to do the trick. A beautiful pear with the stem still in tack will look so elegant on the tables at each place setting, as pears have a lovely shape and color. Use the stem to tie a small piece of card stock or vellum with the name of the guest on the card.
If you are planning a wedding in the late fall or around the holidays, you will find the amazing fruit, pomegranates. When you can find them large and bright red, they can look stunning on your guest’s tables. We suggest purchasing a liquid gold pen and hand writing each of your guests names on one, using this as a place card, wedding favor.
Another great idea for a wedding over the holidays is to have Christmas tree ornaments with each guest name placed on the ornaments. A craft maker could be just the one to help you with this. A nice touch would be to have a tree at the entrance of the seating area where each guest can pick his or her ornament off the tree.
Often times a couple is very proud of the music that they have selected for their wedding, including the first dance. Some couples like the idea of creating a CD of this music for their guests and giving it as a wedding favor. Why not take it a step further by placing the guests name on the CD, turning it into a place card as well.
For a beach wedding beautiful seashells can have the guests name hand painted on each shell. You can place them on the table or in a sand box were the guest can pick them up.
Hopefully you got a few good ideas or even better yet sparked your own creativity to come up with something else. Just be sure that the favor goes along with your style and that it comes from the heart.
